Parent Poem

I called you over and over again,

But you said you were too busy.

I called you over and over again.

I told you it was important,

But you had other things in mind.

I called you over and over again.

I wanted you to read it,

I wanted you to be the first one.

I called you over and over again,

But you didn’t come.

I said I had something for you to see,

I called you over and over again.

I still had tears in my eyes

From the story I had written, but

I called you over and over again.

You were busy,

You were always busy,

I called you over and over again.

The story talked about us

About how much I loved you.

I called you over and over again.

You finally came, when I had thrown it away

After all,

I called you over and over again.
