Where I’m from

Where I’m from

I am from my grandpa's store,

The empty mall and the old appliances.

I am from the plane floor,

From under the seats and from the luggage line.

I am from many countries and different hotels,

Multiple languages and foreign milk.

I am from my grandma's Spanish songs

And made up wake up stories.

I am from my grandpa's soccer games

And affiliated cards from teams I'll never know.

I am from my dad's smart jokes,

And my mom's classic music.

I am from big cities and gardens,

From public transportation and quiet classrooms.

I am from fairytale books and horror stories.

From the river that flows quietly,

I am from large houses with pools.

I'm from a color pencils case, one color for each day.
