Memory Poem

Memory Poem

I remember when our relationship changed.

From all the times we spent together,

From all the shopping fevers,

From all the phone calls,

I remember when you said,

“We need to talk”.

Something had changed,

I felt it the night before,

In the way you held me, in the way you smiled,

In the way you kissed my check goodbye.

I remember when you told me I had to stop,

And think.

It was time to tell me the truth,

It was time to break all the barriers,

It was time for our friendship to grow.

I remember when I cried,

Because of the words you said,

It was true.

I needed to grow up,

I needed to understand,

I needed to look outside my window,

I needed to hear your thoughts.

I remember when

Everything changed.
