Kirra woke up when the handsome male servant chapped on her door. She got up and knew that today was going to be a difficult one. She felt well rested and awake as she washed in the joined bathroom. Once she stepped out of the bathroom she noticed that a servant had placed clothes on her bed. She walked over and examined the leather outfit. It was a pale brown in colour and had sections of chain mail over important parts of the body. Kirra easily slipped into it, noting that it fit perfectly. There was another knock on her door just as she was dressed, sighing slightly and running a hand through her damp hair, Kirra walked over and opened the door. She was greeted by Sora, who wore a similar outfit. The two girls smiled at each other, they had been distanced lately so neither knew what to say. Kirra stepped to the side, allowing Sora in. They sat on the bed, that was the main focus point of the room, and allowed the silence to wrap round them.
Missy woke up with a kink in her neck. Sitting up she saw the sleeping Dave. Slowly Missy crawled to him. He looked so peaceful, lying on his back, his head turned to the side slightly. Carefully, as if to not wake him, she reached out a hand and stroked his stubbly cheek. She got no reaction from Dave and she gave him a quick kiss then stood up. Missy walked over to the window and stared out. She shivered slightly, how could she fight today? Against her friends, against Rayne? She knew how he felt, and she felt strongly for him in return. Knowing all this Missy knew that if she had to fight with Rayne that would endanger himself so he wouldn't hurt her. So what could Missy do? From behind her Dave let out a low murmur, making Missy face him. He was stretching his arms out above his head. Dave turned and looked at her. He sat up and noticed the tears that had began to run down her face.
“Missy, what is it?” He asked her as she turned to the window.
“Nothing” she returned in a mutter. Dave rose from where he was lying and moved to her. He wrapped his arms round her in a hug.
“You can tell me.” He told her and he felt her nod her head.
“I don't want to lose you today...” She mumbled quietly then began to cry.
Bryan felt like an idiot wearing the leather and chain mail outfit that the blond servant had handed him. He was then lead into the weaponry and was told to pick his weapon and secondary weapon for the battle. He picked a sword and a danger. After getting weapons he was lead out to the training area where he was told how to handle them. Since Bryan possessed a violent nature, he couldn't wait for the fight.
Aaron stood by his castle, his men surrounding him, waiting for Missy and Dave to be brought out from their cell. Once they had been forced into the group of warriors, they set out for Crystal's castle. Dave reached out for Missy's hand and they shared a small, sad smile. When they arrived at Crystal's castle they were met by Crystal's army, and their friends. Rayne stood in front with the princess, and there was a visible tension between them, Bryan was off to the side a bit, a smirk on his face. Kirra and Sora were to the opposite side, both wearing a tortured expression. Aaron's smirk was rubbed off when he saw Rayne, with the glint of evil in his emerald eyes. The smug, deadly look on Rayne's face annoyed Aaron to the extreme, so he spitefully snapped his fingers and waited for one of his men to pull Missy to the front. Aaron grabbed hold of her hair and kicked her legs so she fell. Missy let out a whimper as Aaron smirked, happy with Rayne's reaction.
Rayne went for Aaron, followed by Crystal's army in his defence. Aaron blocked the swing of Rayne's blade, dropping Missy. Dave ran past her and pulled her to her feet, and safely getting them into the mass of Crystal's warrior's and they were both handed a weapon. Missy attacked Hunter by slicing his back open. He spun round and glared at her.
“You little bitch. How dare you.” He hissed as he raised his sword. There was a clash of metal against metal. Hunter's strength overpowered Missy's and she knew that if she didn't distract him he'd kill her. So, without a better idea, she kicked her leg out and kicked him in the crotch. He instantly stopped his attack to let out a pained scream, and Missy couldn't help but smirk.
Bryan cut the throat of the warrior attacking and as the body fell he saw Dave. He cut his way through to aid his older brother. Dave swung the blade up to block the coming attack and caught a glimpse of metal from behind his attacker as the sword ripped through his enemy's torso. Bryan grinned at his brother, who returned it with a smile and raised eyebrows.
“Who would trust you with a blade Bryan?” Dave laughed before attacking the nearest enemy.
Rayne and Aaron shared a hard look. Aaron's men were falling faster than Crystal's and he was not impressed. They were surrounded by the swoosh of metal as it sliced the air and bang of it hitting more metal, the roar of the injured and the wails of the dying. Rayne refused to be distracted, at least until he killed Aaron. Aaron's eyes grew wide and angry, he glared at something beyond Rayne and ducked Rayne's attack and sprinted by. Rayne turned on his heel and saw that Aaron was heading to Missy and the dying body of his son. Missy looked weak and there was blood running down her pale face. Rayne called her name and she turned. Noticing Aaron's advance she lifted her weapon.
Kirra and Sora stood side by side. Most of Aaron's men were retreating. Other's, of those that stayed and were alive were grovelling, begging for their lives. It appeared that they had won.
Bryan saw Rayne and followed him. The battle had unleashed his violent side and he was angry at Rayne. He got most of Missy's attention and in Bryan's opinion, it wasn't fair. Bryan soon caught up Rayne and slipped his sword through Rayne's back. As Bryan pulled his sword out, Rayne's blood shimmered on the blade before it dripped off. Bryan then saw Aaron attacking Missy and went to her. He pushed in blade between Missy's and Aaron's. Bryan motioned for Missy to leave and she did so, running to Rayne's side.
“Rayne! Rayne, are you okay?” Missy called out as she picked up Rayne's head and rested it on her lap. He groaned in reply. Missy felt her eyes fill up with tears as she stroked his hair.
“Rayne, you'll be fine. You're gonna be okay.” She lied through her tears. Rayne weakly lifted his hand and rubbed away a stray tear, then rested his hand on her cold damp cheek.
“Missy,” He groaned. “I won't. I know it. And so do you.” He let out a pathetic cough and Missy sniffled.
“Rayne, I don't want you to die. Please don't die.” She cried softly. Her tears were obscuring her vision, making it blurred. Rayne leaned up and kissed her, and then he gazed up at her.
“Missy, know that.... I want you know...” Rayne started, but he never finished what he was saying. His eyes turned hallow as his life slipped away. Missy let out a wail before she buried her face into the crook of his neck and sobbed. She slowly rocked back and forth as Dave, Sora and Kirra ran to her side. Bryan, after killing Aaron began to head over to Missy, but was stopped by a howl of wind and flash of white light. He put his arm up to shield his eyes. When the light and the howling had passed he looked around. Bryan stood still, standing in the middle of town with no elves nearby, no castle, no bodies. He looked up seeing Dave standing with a few of his friends, Bryan shook his head and walked over to Dave. They both shared the same confused look and Bryan knew the whole thing wasn't a dream.
Missy sat outside on the bench where her and her friends went for lunch, she was crying softly to herself when her phone started ringing. She sniffled and the clicked answer.
“Missy? Are you okay? Where are you? And Sora and Kirra?” Dave's voice called out to her from the other end of the line.
“I'm at the bench. And I don't know about them. I'll text 'em.” And with that she hung up and typed a message to Sora and Kirra as she waited for Dave to meet her. Both girls replied and soon Sora, Kirra, Missy, Dave and Bryan were standing in a huddle, all certain of what they lived through, and all knowing that they could never tell anyone else.
