Dancing with dolphins
Once the sun had set, the warmth of the pebble beach began to fade until the teenage boy began to shiver in his wet cloths. With his dog laying by his side for warmth the boy watched the rising of the full moon, his favourite thing in the world. The large Golden Reverie was like a living blanket keeping him warm. He watched the silver light hit black waters and illuminate the creates playing in the waves.
Ever since he had to move from London to live with his sick grandmother this was the only thing he found that made it bearable. They were staying in the middle of nowhere with only old people around. He hated it. He wanted the hustle and bustle back, being surrounded by people he did not know and that did not know him. Being able to vanish for hours at a time and not have anyone notice. But that was in the past. He now had to stay in a place he did not wish to be.
It was during his many aimless wonderings that he found this hidden beach, drift wood lapped at the stones that hid the sand from view. From what he could see standing on the cliff overlooking the sea no one had came down here in years. There was no path leading down and so he and his dog spend days looking for some sort of path. It took him a few days but he found a way to his hide away. The cliff gently lowed down to meet coast line and then he only had to swim in the ocean to reach the beach.
Watching the moon rise he listened to the song of the dolphins playing. It was a beautiful sound to the city raised boy and the sight brought chuckles from the stern looking boy. As the moon got higher the sound of giggles joined with his chuckles; the sound made him freeze, fearing someone else was with him in the dark.
“Who’s there?” he demanded keeping him voice natural. He was not afraid. The sound of giggles got louder but no one answered him. “Answer me damn it!” he yelled hoping he was able to keep the fear from his voice.
“Don’t worry. We won’t hurt you” the voice softly replied. “No one has come down here as often as you. Why do you keep coming here?” the voice was high pitched, much like a child’s but there was no other person around. His curiosity peeked when his dog playfully barked at the water before jumping head first into the ocean.
“JD get back here you stupid dog!”
“JD, what does that mean?” the voice giggled again.
“Nothing!” just then he saw his companion. A naked boy was standing in the water uncaring for the cold or his lack of cloths. The boy lifted his arms with a smile on his face. “Come dance with us” was all he said and he did.
