After all that we've been through
I realize that I was truly lost without you.
I walked my way through the days,
While I endlessly fought through the nights.
The hours passed on ever so slow,
Yet with you they seemed to fly by all too soon.
The sparks from the sun never seemed brighter,
And the crickets never chirped so loud.
The distance seemed to grow with each passing trip,
But we drew closer together, every night holding on,
For just another moment longer.
Every time you took hold of my hand,
Silently promising never to let go of it,
New life burst into me, stripping away all I knew.
I found myself dumbfounded, I still do,
As I began to question the thought of love.
Like a titillating dream I see you bright and clear,
Dancing and twirling under the moonlight.
Such grace, such elegance, a beaming temple of beauty.
I'd drift slowly toward you, and take hold.
Spending hours lost in the movement, in the passion.
This love I had found never ceased to amaze me.
Getting lost in your eyes was the easiest thing to do,
And getting out of them was by far the hardest.
They swirled with hopes and dreams,
An ocean full of life with waves of pain.
I'd give anything to take that pain away.
Seated on the couch, I'd pull you closer to me.
Slowly brushing your cheek and edging closer.
Our eyes would wander for only a second,
And the corners of our mouths formed a smile
That very moment before we would kiss.
Oh, those moments, I'd never give up.
Those moments when our two souls became one.
Every time I would leave a bigger piece of my heart,
Within your trusting arms, hoping you'd never let go.
That heart belongs to you now,
Seeing how you've put together all the pieces once more.
Obviously I've fallen, and I can see you falling with me.
So lets take hold once more, and fall together.
