Barely Scraping By.

The sea crashed at her feet, too terrified to move,

No wind whipping cold tears, not aiding their fall.

A bitter chill ached in her bones as they scrunched up small

Muscles clenching on tight to tendons as the very life seeped from her soul.

Ice fills the veins, pumping thorns scratching vessel walls.

Screeching in her mind, laughter digs her grave,

Happiness breaks the iron chains of her mental refuge.

Outside she's faking hard enough to please

Perfect make up an inch off joint.

Brilliant smiles with beauteous eyes; the perfect statue of loneliness.

She's barely scraping by.

She's barely scraping by,

Brilliant smiles with beauteous eyes. The perfect statue of loneliness,

Perfect make up an inch out of joint.

Happiness breaks the iron chains of her mental refuge

Screeching in her mind, laughter digs the grave.

Ice fills her veins, pumping thorns scratching vessel walls.

Muscles clutching on tight to tendons as the very life seeps from her soul.

With no wind whipping cold tears not aiding their fall.

The sea crashed at her feet, too terrified to move.
