Trapped inside my own house
Locked in my own domain
Most times I'd call it shelter
But now it's driving me insane
They say it's to protect me
From the rest of the world
But what they do not see is
I'm no longer a little girl
I want to go and see the world
Get the chance to live my life
But instead they've got me trapped here
Staring at a knife
Maybe one day if I'm lucky
I'll get out and escape
But I had better do it soon
Otherwise it'll be too late
I can sit down at my window
Watch the world pass me by
And instead of moving with it
I stay in my house and cry
They say there are dangers out there
And I know this to be true
But I'd still like to see them on my own
Before my life is through
This argument is useless
That's how this poem came to be
I'm trapped inside my own house
Won't someone rescue me?
