A/N: A Virelay is a French style of poetry with a meshing rhyme scheme and five stanzas. My first attempt at a virelay, and I think it came out quite nicely. The punctuation is a little iffy, though. Enjoy!
Unfurling precious bud,
open palms and open mind,
showers wash away the mud
and leave a clean soul behind.
For if you search then you will find
this safe and pure green land,
to sort yourself and become kind--
to grasp an aiding hand.
And if you walk, you will hit sand
emotional waves steep and blue
forming around a protective band
to help in all you do.
This world was made all for you,
created of strength, peace, and finesse
pulled from the depths of you--
your soul's saving caress.
Connecting to your happiness
sink away from reality
only seek your own forgiveness--
Welcome to your sanctuary.
