"A Poem"
-
Can you hear the soldier call, this is our duty to all
In the name of love for Queen and our countrymen too
We must fight for our freedom, our freedom to do as we will
Some must fight, and some must pay, some will kill and some may save the day
While the government sow their dirty seeds of lies another soldier dies
-
Al-qaeda chant their bloody sermon, against the wretched west
They may scream Allah Akbar, to ensnare the fear of god in their hearts
But its the people pay the highest price, with the blood of the innocent
We’re locked in a holy battle where neither side can win
It’s not about sin, and it’s not a discipline you can master at all
-
Can anyone see an end in sight, to this awful war to this endless fight?
In all the wars that were fought before, have we learnt nothing more
Than how to bring greater pain to millions more, in building new technologies
From nuclear catastrophes to scores of factories constructing guns
That conscript the youth lining the streets of Africa and Middle Eastern Asia
-
All men and women, are mothers and fathers, sons and daughters
And we’re all on the same path here, so don’t let your brother or sister
Get sent to the slaughter, we must stand together united
Together we can stand, but apart we can only fall
So open your heart to the stranger next door, and don’t look for another war
