Running Out of Time
By Ettare
Inside the looking glass, a girl looked back at me
She looked of many things, none of which I’d be
I saw my darkest shadow, upon the time high noon
And deep inside I wondered if my life was already hewn
I glanced into the water, disappearing in the deep
It frightened me to think that my secrets wouldn’t keep
I peered outside my window, the light quickly slipping away
A greater part of me struggled to keep the night at bay
I glimpsed into the future, bleak with murky grime
And it was then that I’d realized, I’d run out of time
