I whisper
You sigh
We both exhale this lethal silence
And they haunt us as we sleep

Wake up to a thirty second reality
You can't even look me in the eye anymore
And I wonder:
why am I here?

They told me through dictionary prophecies
A four letter word to which describes
Something which we will not survive.

We watch the sky light
Sunrise in our eyes
And you stroke my hair
And wish for something different
Your hands shake and I laugh
And I shiver
(But only from the cold)
And you kiss me
deeply
But we're just shallow

Ask me again
And I'll tell you I love you
Bloodied and broken
Our hearts always look better on paper

We're such romantics.
