Mirror
For the moment her mind was left in a crystal void
A time of absence, a time of physical distress
Worry caressed her, engulfed her
As the reflection told the story of earlier that morning
A pierce through her heart, as dropped glass
She collapsed as a few words surrounded her
As she was privileged enough to be one of those girls
Who never cared of personal appearance
A remark from whom she admired destroyed her
From the inside, out
She continued to stare at her profile through multiple mirrors
They just made that comment worsen
It gave her more unease and illness
As it progressed and spread to her whole body, like an epidemic
The mirrors encouraged her, telling her portions of perfection
And flaws of, now, great notice
She changed herself in ways of massive proportion
Covering herself up in a fake face, a mask
That wasn't necessary before, until now
"Pampering" one to be royalty within itself
A once natural beauty
Transformed to a fake disgrace
She knows now she'll be accepted by him, and others
Until she found that they were only fakes, too –
Back in front of that mirror she stood
She only saw a girl with a mask and a life that wasn't real
She had made too dramatic of a change to go back now
Many people thought she was gorgeous
But she knew it was only a cover up, it wouldn't last
She turned off the light
Thinking only of how she had become even uglier than he said she was
A was, once, and never will be again, beauty
