Author's Note: A poem I wrote in Creative Writing class. I had to go find a place on the school campus to write a poem about--while it was raining (Yay!).

The crystal sky shifts to silver
A milky set of drums hangs over my head as the heavens
Raise its hands and joyfully sing
By my feet are the crowds of green and brown
Standing quietly in this outdoor concert hall
The rhythm beats hard and heavy above me
Raining down near-death instruments
The ones who stand as the audience inhale
The sky’s water youths descending upon them
They receive the percussion of time
Nature’s tune repeats infinitely
Until the sun’s light puts the song to an end
While giving applause only God can here, I smile
I heard a timeless melody the other humans
Are too ignorant to hear
