What does it take to be a hero

Is it their character or some adventure on which they go

I believe you qualify

for you became my hero without having to even try

A hero is supposed to ride up and save the day

you are always better at chasing my gloom away

I know that you will never cause me pain

and that means more to me than any 50 monsters slain

A hero is supposed to ride in and win the fight

you are always there to make everything all right

You never care about popularity or looks

you are always there for me even when I hide behind my books

A hero is supposed to slay a dragon or best some evil dude

you fight something more terrifying me in a bad mood

When bullies come it is to you I always flee

for I know that you will protect me

A heart of gold and a friend that’s true

that is the hero I see in you
