The Ballad
Cold wind chilling her pale face,
hair blowing in the wind.
The silence of a lost love
a echo in her head.
Tears fall down such a fair face,
healing nothing, causing more sorrow.
A whisper escapes her delicate lips.
"Will he ever find me?
Will he take me away from here?
and hold me ever near?"
Body trembling, she cries.
The hollow in her heart
a burden ever more.
"Rest your head on my shoulder,
Your gentle pressure on my lips.
Keep me close to you forever.
Never wander away from here."
Finally her body caves
No power she has anymore.
She strains for breath amidst the sobs
and decides that she cannot live anymore.
"There is only one I love.
Only one I can confide with.
Be he not here, nor will I.
I have decided."
Her end she then decided.
Cold body lying on the floor.
Next to the one she loved,
her hair still blowing in the wind.
But her heart whole once more.
