What makes us

Make the decisions we do?

What makes us

Choose the hot new guy

Over our best friend?

What makes us choose the popular kids

Over the friends you’ve been with forever?

Is it a thrive?

A thirst for something new because you’ve been

Accepted into their crew?

A need to be known?

Yet, you never see the pain, the hurt

Of those you’ve left behind.

You’ll never understand,

Why your best friend

Is p e r m a n a t e l y mad at you

((Now that you got the guy

That’s all that’s on your mind.))

You’ll never understand,

Why those friends of yours

Still save you a seat with l i t t l e h. o. p. e.

Just to see you walk away a g a i n.

You’ll never see the change in you.

You’ll never understand,

Because when you look into the mirror you’ll always only see

The exact same face,

The one you’ve seen for 16 years,

Looking right back.

Nothing changed.

Nothing new.

Just the same old you.
