Coffee’s Addictive & So is She

Epilogue

Friday, November 16th – Aly’s Basement

“God, Casper. You really suck at this game,” Ronnie said as he beat me for the fifth time in a row. I turned to him and glared.

“What the fuck did you expect?” I asked him bitterly. “Today’s the first time I’ve ever played this stupid game. Hell, I haven’t even heard of it until today.”

“Well,” he said, raising his eyebrows at me and then slowly turning to Aly, who was sitting on the futon. “Someone’s on his man period.”

Aly began laughing, but stopped after she saw the glare I was giving her. She gave me a small sheepish smile, and I tried to keep glaring at her, but I couldn’t. Sighing, I looked away from her, back at the TV screen where it showed my player dead, while Ronnie’s was celebrating. Goddamn ninja game.

“Turn it off, Ronnie. You’ve whooped his ass enough for one day,” Aly said. Ronnie huffed, but did what she said. She smiled at him then crawled off the futon to come sit between us on the floor. I looked over at her, grinning, and wrapped an arm around her waist to pull her to me.

“So…what now?” Ronnie asked, lying back on the carpet.

“A movie?” I suggested, but both Aly and Ronnie shook their heads.

“Don’t fee like it,” she said.

“Don’t have time for it either,” he added. “I’ve got to be home in an hour.”

“Right,” I mumbled and then sighed. “Well, then….I don’t know.”

Aly laughed. “Do you guys want to go with to see my parents over Christmas break?”

“What?!” Ronnie exclaimed excitedly, looking at her with wide eyes. “Are you serious?!”

“Yeah,” she said with a nod. “I talked to my mom the other night and asked her about it and she said it was alright as long both your parents are okay with it. Are you in?”

“Hell yeah!” Ronnie told her. She grinned at him before looking up at me with a questioning expression.

“What about you, Casper?”

“I want to go,” I said, “but I don’t think my mom will let me.”

“You never know,” Aly said, resting her head on my shoulder. She began playing with my hair. “I’ll have her talk to my mom if it comes down to it. I mean…I really want my parents to meet my boyfriend and what better way is there than bringing you home with me for Christmas?”

I smiled at her and then leaned down to kiss her. Once our lips touched, though, Ronnie groaned exasperatedly.

“Guys!” he whined. “Not that I don’t like you guys together, because I do! It’s just…You know I don’t wanna watch you to make-out. Straight kisses do nothing for me.”

Aly and I both started laughing, and we pulled away from each other, sending smirks at him. Ronnie huffed.

“You do it in front of me on purpose, don’t you?”

“Oh, yeah,” Aly answered sarcastically. “We just find it so exhilarating to make-out in front of a gay guy.”

“You know, man. If it bothers you that much, you can always just leave,” I told him, looking at him with my eyebrows raised, hoping he was get the hint and actually do it. That kiss Aly and I had just had made me want more.

“Not leaving until I have to,” Ronnie said, smirking smugly at me now. “So, you’re just gonna have to wait to swap spit with each other until then. Sorry.”

He looked anything but sorry, and I rolled my eyes at him while Aly just giggled. I looked down at her, and I once again had to remind myself that I was not just dreaming that I was holding her and that she was really my girlfriend. Sometimes, I had a hard time believing that things had worked out between us. It seemed too good to be true, and I was sure that sooner or later I would wake up from a dream. It hadn’t happened yet, though, so as far as I was concerned, I could keep on dreaming if it meant keeping Aly with me.

She looked up at me then, and beamed, her pretty amber eyes sparkling. After a couple of seconds, she leaned up and kissed me again. Even though it was only a peck, it was so amazing and it made me so incredibly happy. A dream definitely couldn’t be that good or perfect. I smiled back at her and leaned my forehead against hers.

Ronnie cleared his throat loudly. “If you two don’t cut it out, I’m going to dump a bucket of water on you both,” he told us. “God!”

“Oh, get over it,” Aly said, rolling her eyes but then smiling at me as she discretely took my hand. “You’ll be exactly the same way once you find a boy you like for his personality and not just because he has a nice ass.”

“Having a nice ass is very important, I’ll have you know,” Ronnie stated matter-of-factly. “It feels so much better to grab onto while fuc—”

“Do NOT finish that sentence!” I exclaimed. “I don’t want to hear it!”

Both Aly and Ronnie burst into laughter, and I rolled my eyes. A half-smile was beginning to form on my lips, though, as Aly continued to giggle in my arms. She really was adorable. I loved it.

They both finally calmed down after a moment, and Ronnie sighed. He looked over at us with a thoughtful expression.

“We should do something really fun this summer. All three of us,” he said.

“Yeah. We should,” I said in agreement, a large grin on my face. “But what?”

Ronnie made a thoughtful noise, but Aly sat up and gave us both a smile that meant she was up to something or knew something we didn’t. I raised an eyebrow at her, silently telling her to say whatever was going through her mind.

“How about a road trip to Florida?” she suggested, “We could drive down and stay there all summer.”

Ronnie looked at her like she was a genius. “That’s perfect!”

“Knew you’d like it,” Aly said.

“Where would we stay, though?” I asked her, not really meaning to pop either hers or Ronnie’s bubbles. It was just… “I don’t know about you two, but I don’t have enough money to pay for a hotel for that long. And my parents definitely won’t lend me that much.”

“Oh, you don’t have to worry about that,” she told me with that look again. I narrowed my eyes at her.

“Aly,” I said suspiciously, “what’s going on in that head of yours?”

“Well…” she began, pausing, and I knew she was only doing it to push our buttons. Aly sent a smirk to both Ronnie and me. “I know a place we could stay at for free.”

“Ugh!” Ronnie growled. “Just tell us already, you sadistic, Harry Potter obsessed tease!”

Aly laughed. “Okay. Okay. I’ll tell you,” she said. “My aunt called me last night and asked me if I wanted to house-sit for her this summer since her and my uncle are going away. She said that I could bring a few friends with me if I wanted to, too.”

“Oh…my…GAWD!!!” Ronnie yelled, bolting upright. “Yes! Jesus-fucking-Christ yes!”

“A whole summer in Florida with my girlfriend and best friend? Hell yeah! Count me in!” I told her, grinning. Aly grinned back at me, and once again we ended up kissing. This time, though, we got a little bit carried away.

“That’s it!” Ronnie shouted. “I’m leaving! Have fun sucking-face!”

Aly pulled away from me and smiled at him. “Okay, we will. See you later.”

“Bye, Ronnie,” I said.

He groaned again, already walking up the stairs, but by the time he reached the top, he was grinning. After giving us a small wave and telling Aly he’d call her later, Ronnie left, and the moment the door was shut behind him, Aly was sitting on my lap, facing me with a slightly impish smile.

“He’s gone,” she said quietly, wrapping her arms around my neck and leaning forward slowly. I started leaning towards her too, wearing the same kind of smile as her as I placed my hands on the small of her back.

“Indeed he is,” I muttered against her lips before I kissed her.

We had only been officially together for over a month, but I already knew that I couldn’t care about anyone else more than I cared about her. Aly was everything I wasn’t, and yet we had so much in common. She just made me feel so complete and happy that it was impossible to put into words. I loved everything she did, everything she said, and just everything about her. I especially loved the way she kissed me; her lips and tongue moving with mine, perfectly in sync, offering a challenging battle for dominance.

Eventually though, we had to break away from each other to catch our breath. We stared at each other for a moment, grinning, before she rested her head on my shoulder. I hugged her back and pressed my face into her hair, inhaling her intoxicating scent. I sighed contentedly.

“I love you,” I told her softly.

Aly smiled against my neck and hugged me tighter. “I love you, too, Casper.”
