FULL SUMMARY:

Luke is a normal high school guy with friends, an ok family life, and an amazing talent in art. Alls well and good… until a strange new girl moves in down the street. With paper white skin, bleached white hair, sad icy blue eyes, and a no-nonsense attitude, she doesn’t exactly fit into the discreet category. In fact, she sticks out like a clown at a funeral. And Luke is stuck with her in every single class. She’s immediately labeled as the new school odd ball… but she fits in fine with Luke’s small group, which quickly swallow her up into the folds of their miniature society. And as she opens up, Luke and the others begin to see the truly delicate flower hidden within the beast.

Ok this chapter is really short cause it's kinda like a prologue... next chapters will be longer! PLEASE R&R!! IF YA DO I'LL GIVE YA A COOKIE!!

Someone New

Luke Jillian Thompson sat comfortably in his desk by the window in math class at 1:00 p.m. It was just after lunch and they had all been forced back into the stuffy school building for the last two hours of… guess what! SCHOOL! Luke hated math itself but liked this class because he had a desk to himself. Everyone else had to sit two to a desk because of how many people were in the class. But the day of seat assigning, fate had smiled on him and he had ended up with a desk of his own right next to the window.

And as he always did, he ignored the lesson and stared out the third story window. There was usually nothing interesting to look at in the dull as heck city. Today, however, something down on the front lawn of the school caught his eye. At the main gate, walking along the path toward the front doors of the school, were two figures. The one looked normal; long wavy brown hair, fairly tan skin, average height, appeared to be a young woman. Next to her was a smaller girl (?) with, get this, bleach white hair, paper white skin, dressed in all dark clothing, and what seemed like a good 9 inches shorter than the one walking along side her.

He stared down at the strange site before dejectedly turning back to the teacher, who had just asked him a question that he, of course, didn’t know the answer to.

He went through his last hour of Art class without another site of the strange girl from before. He accredited it to hallucination from over boredom brought on by too much school…

When his best friend, and cousin, Millie heard this theory she bust out laughing before kissing him on the cheek and running off to catch up with some more of her friends to go to the mall. He rolled his eyes at her and started his long walk back to the two story baby blue house that he called home.

At the end of his 45 minute walk he slipped the key into the front door, quickly dodged as his poodle pup Lulu, raced at him to get outside, and went to see what note his mother had left for him this time. It simply stated that she had gone out to the store and that she’d be back later. At the end it had a small reminder to him to walk Lulu before he started on his homework. He smiled to himself as he turned his cell phone on and went to fetch Lulu’s leash.

Luke and Lulu always walked to the top of the hill that they lived on and then back down. That was more than enough exercise for the both of them. At the top of said hill was a canary yellow house. It had been up for sale for months now. The site of the ‘For Sale’ sign had become such a regular thing for Luke that it actually shocked him when he stopped in front of the house, ready to turn around, and it wasn’t there.

He stared in confusion at the dent in the ground where it should have been. Then up at the two cars in the driveway. There were still a lot of cardboard boxes outside of the house… and from the looks of it there were quite a few people in the house. As he continued to be the nosy teenager he was he got the odd feeling like someone was watching him. He glanced around and saw a girl of about 5 feet, with paper white skin, bleach white hair, and icy blue eyes. FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD IT WAS THE GIRL HE HAD SEEN AT THE SCHOOL! She stared at him coldly and he quickly dropped his gaze and jerked Lulu around to head back down the hill.

He glanced back a moment later to see her gaze still on him. He practically felt the cold knife that was her gaze piercing into his back. And she’s going to my school too… great… he thought to himself silently as he stepped back into the fortress of his home, finally away from the piercing stare of that strange girl… but there was that oh-so scary thought that she would be there at school on Monday… He shivered at the thought of being subject to those eyes again and quickly put the thought out of his mind as he prepared to enjoy his weekend.
