How to identify “The” story

So you've come up with a million ideas. You've started half a dozen stories. Each time you think you're writing “The” story. “The” one that you'll get published, or try to at least.

And each time you give up three chapters in.

How to recognize “The” story?

Simple. The story is:

-The one you're willing to re-write a thousand times. (In the case where it didn't happen with your other stories.)

-The one you're most insecure about. (You felt so happy and proud of your other stories. Yet you never feel happy enough with this one. No matter how many people say it's good, you have low self-esteem about it.)

-The one you don't get the same creative rush for. (With all the others you felt so energized starting it, you furiously typed out three chapters. And this one? You're being slow, taking more time.)

-The one you don't want the whole world to know about it. (With the others you advertised loads for it, made videos and a website... But this one? You might still make a video and tell people about it, but it's not the same.)

-The one where when you get the idea for it, you don't think, “OMG! This is IT! This is the ONE!” until you read all this and realize it actually is the one.

I hope this helped and that you thought “Title of current story is the ONE!” when you read this. If not, then I'm sure the ONE will come soon.

-Kayleigh, who's found her ONE (Memories.)
