Pretty Girl

Have you ever seen that pretty girl
With tears for her little fantasy?
With dollhouses to rival her little world
With eyes too blind to see?

Have you ever met that pretty girl
Too naive to see the way?
That pretty girl, her lonely world
Where all love meets dismay?

Have you ever known that pretty girl
Whose ego knew no bounds?
Have you ever seen her pretty world
Where her every word is profound?

I have met that pretty girl
Whose dreams sparkle like diamonds and bloom like dust
I have seen her pretty world
Built on lies of love and trust

I have known that pretty girl
Who begged me to be saved
I have opened up her pretty world
And she's told me she's betrayed

I have felt that pretty girl
Whose ideals know no end
Her touch to burn back all the world
Her dolls to play pretend

Have you ever seen that ugly girl
Who hides her hate in pretty deceit?
Have you entered her pretty world
Been forced, in imperfection, to retreat?
