A/N: Pretty self-explainatory. A sonnet.
Sonnet I: Sentiments of an Unrequited Love
Roaring fire begins not as a giant,
But as a delicate, flickering flame.
Like fire, my love is just as defiant
Against that which it wishes most to claim.
From bark, itself it tries to free only
To let forth crackling sparks with deep dismay;
For once Fire’s tongue has tasted, lonely
It cannot be; forever forced to stay.
Yet, though fire is mighty and enduring,
Eas’ly is it doused into depression;
For Earth, to Wood, is vastly alluring
And cannot be swayed by Fire’s obsession.
Though dead She may appear, She’ll still forgive;
For trapped beneath the Earth, on, fire shall live.
