A/N: A pantoum on graduation.

Twelve Years of Dreaming

She passes swiftly, floating, lost in a dream.
Walls of sea foam melt before her, flooding the floor
With their inescapable texture and sight.
Her eyes sleepily cloud over, mirroring the skylight.

Walls of sea foam melt before her, flooding the floor
While they, her fellows, slide by.
Her eyes sleepily cloud over, mirroring the skylight
As towering barriers of blue close her in from both sides.

While they, her fellows, slide by,
She stares dazedly at a board of green, all symbols expelling her purpose.
And towering barriers of blue close her in from both sides
As she waits for the signal that will save her.

She stares dazedly at the board of green, all symbols expelling her purpose.
A world of adventure awaits her when she steps through those doors
After receiving the signal that will save her
From the repetition she can no longer ignore.

A world of adventure awaits her through those doors.
Five years she has waited for this seemingly fictional day,
Rescued from the repetition she can no longer ignore.
At the chime she finally awakens; her twelve year dream is over.
