Heyy,
Another Story that I wrote.
R/R Please.
Captive
Shani woke in daze and tried to ignore her throbbing head. This was not a good day for her, definitely not a good day. She tried to free herself from her restraints but it was no use, she was going to be stuck to this chair for a while.
Shani took in her dishevelled appearance; her cargo pants were torn and there was a smear of blood on her t-shirt, though whose blood it was she didn’t know. There were very few things in the room; except for the chair she was tied in there was virtually nothing. She scanned the dimly lit room for something that could help her escape.
Before she could think of a way; the door opened and someone holding a firearm walked in. As he walked closer to her field of vision Shani gave a sharp intake of breath.
“Pleased to see me, my Tatelah.” The man asked sneering.
“Eschel?” Shani asked in surprise.
“You sound surprised.”
“I am not your Tatelah,” Shani replied menacingly, “You lost the right to call me that when you kidnapped me.”
“You’re not in any position to make threats.” Eschel replied, running the barrel of his gun down her cheek.
Instinctively Shani shivered and tried to hide it. The notion however didn’t go unnoticed by Eschel.
“Scared?” he bent down and whispered into her ear, sending shivers down her spine.
“You wish.” She bit back, trying to control the tremble in her voice.
“Oh, I think you are.” He kept whispering in his ear.
“This isn’t going to end well for you.” Shani somehow succeeded in controlling her trembling voice.
Eschel pulled back abruptly and stood in front of her, “Kalba.”
“You know I never was all that into you.”
Eschel slapped her on the face before walking out; even though her training had taught her not to show pain, it didn’t mean she didn’t feel it. Her face now stung, her head was throbbing more and now she knew that Eschel was her captor. It was a really bad day for her.
Shani awoke and snapped her head up. She had no idea what time it was or how long she had been sleeping.
“I see you’re awake now.” Eschel stepped into the room.
“This is getting old.” Shani muttered.
“No, this is just getting started, my Tatelah.” Eschel smirked with an evil glint in his eyes.
“What are you up to?” Shani demanded.
“As I said before you’re not exactly in a position to be calling the cards.”
“Tell me.” Shani said with venom dripping off her voice.
“I wonder,” Eschel said absentmindedly, “How much do you really care for Mikel Korat?”
“How much I care for him is none of your business.” Shani said in a steely tone.
“Temper, temper.” He was baiting her now.
Shani kept her mouth shut and just glared at Eschel.
“I’m surprised that they aren’t looking for you.” Eschel kept baiting.
“It’s Mossad Eschel, what do you expect?” Shani retorted; he could always get on her nerves.
Her muscles were cramping up and getting really stiff because she basically hadn’t moved for what were most likely hours. Eschel got up and left the room.
After a brief amount of time he returned with a bottle of water.
“You need it.” Was all he said before unscrewing the cap and holding it to her lips.
At first Shani was reluctant but finally gave in and drank some; if she was going to get out of here wouldn’t she need everything she could get?
After a few sips of water Shani asked, “Why are you doing this Eschel?”
“Because you used me, my Tatelah.” Eschel answered simply.
“You know orders are orders Eschel.”
“If I let you leave, they will kill me.”
“If you don’t let me go they will kill me.” Shani objected softly.
“Don’t make this hard my Tatelah.” Eschel answered with hurt in his voice.
Shani kept quiet for a second and Eschel turned to leave.
Before he does though, he leaves the key to her handcuffs, “I’m not on duty tomorrow.”
She holds the key in her hand and tries to conceal it without drawing suspicion.
“Thank you.” She says sincerely.
“I’m sorry for this, my Tatelah.” Eschel says softly before exiting.
Shani woke up; still gripping the key in her hand like her life depended on it – even though it pretty much did. Slowly and carefully she inserted the key into the cuffs and slowly turned it. A nearly inaudible click told her that he hands were free. She sat still for a moment listening for any sounds of moment, when she heard none she slowly bent down and started untying the rope at her ankles.
She was finally free; she quietly crept behind the door, waiting to surprise the next person who came in. Her muscles were really stiff so she did some stretches while waiting. She was going to have to do a lot better than her best to win a fight, her muscles were unused to not moving for days and this made her ache all over.
After a few more moments of waiting, the door opened and a different man from Eschel walked in. Shani swiftly crept up behind him and knocked him out. She stole his M16 and cell phone, after checking that the magazine was full and stealing the rest of them she slowly crept out.
After walking down a seemingly endless hallway she found herself in front of a door, there was a faded exit sign above it and after listening for any sound she slowly exited.
Outside there was nothing but dust and dirt roads. She obviously wasn’t in Tel Aviv anymore. The last thing she remembered was walking to a bus stop for a trip to one of the Military Intelligence bases in Jerusalem. They must have caught her there, the alleys in Tel Aviv weren’t exactly the safest places and her mind was occupied with her mission.
Shani mentally slapped herself on the head; this is what happens when you lose focus and more than half your family are Mossad, Shabak or IDF.
“Going somewhere?” a voice sneered behind her.
Shani spun round and fired a shot, hitting the man in the forehead. He fell to the ground with a thump and she barely managed to avoid the blood spatter and the recoil of the gun. The man was wearing a green headband, the symbol of Hamas. He was a militant bent on destroying Israel.
Shani started running to the only gate she could find, they others were bound to have heard the shot. She heard rough voice yelling in Arabic and that gave her the momentum to run faster. It was nice to feel the wind in her hair but this wasn’t the time to enjoy it.
She saw an abandoned tank and took refuge behind in for a chance to catch her breath.
A bullet hit the side of the tank. Damn they had seen her.
She crept to the corner and fired a few rounds into the group of men.
She saw of them three fall.
I still haven’t lost my touch.
After firing a few more and hitting some she crawled to the other corner of the tank to confuse them momentarily. After hitting more of the men she heard the sharp metallic clink that indicated that she was out of bullets.
Cursing, Shani removed the empty magazine and replaced it with a full one she had stolen off them. Doing so, she had given them an advantage – well more of an advantage anyway seeing as they already had one, being all of them against her – they too had heard the clink of an empty chamber and took the chance to ambush her.
Shani was quick to rearm and shot the majority of the group fatally.
A bullet whizzed past her head and Shani shuddered at the velocity, a little closer and she would’ve died. This was the first time that she had truly feared for her life. In her whole time in the IDF and Mossad, she had come to accept the fact that she probably wouldn’t live past fifty but this was the first time she had been scared of death.
She fired off another few rounds, the men were nowhere in sight – well the ones that were still alive anyway.
Shani heard the crunch of dirt behind her and spun around and fired, hitting the man directly in the forehead before he could even react.
A searing pain passed through her shoulder and Shani looked down to see blood, she had been shot, but by who?
The pain was excruciating and Shani was getting dizzy from blood loss. Eschel stepped in from of her with his gun raised.
“I’m sorry, my Tatelah.” He whispered.
Bang!
Was all Shani heard before her world went black and she succumbed to the darkness.
(To Be Continued)
No it hasn't finished yet.
Is Shani dead??
Hebrew:
Kalba - Bitch
Tatelah - As far as I know, it means little sweetheart.
(I don't speak Hebrew so I don't mean to offend anyone with my mistranslations or anything)
