forever me

--

i’ll paint you a beautiful garden
garden of roses and lavenders
which smells of sweet lies
empty promises and vacant hopes

(don’t turn your back, now)

i’ll draw you our secret Eden
where the water pours out
ever so vigorously like blood
pulsing through your veins

(it’s still seven in the morning)

i’ll play the piano
play your favorite song
which chimes of death wishes
and past regrets

(oh no don’t reset the alarm)

i’ll paint you the grave
gloomy stalks menacing bushes
silent whispers silent screams
crimson tears and dead smiles
frozen laughs and pretty faces

where our words stumble
and paint the grass red
glittering in the darkest of night
a work of beauty
a promise that has been
dead all along

(you know you can’t forget)

a/n: i’m still here, darling.
