A/N: I'm sorry that I haven't been keeping up with any stories lately

Any death hits us hard

But for a moment

Take for example a mother's death

It rips out our hearts and leaves us cold

For the rest of our lives

As her casket is lowered your lips tremble

But that's not it

Your fists shake and your head throbs in anger and regret

You didn't get to hug her goodbye or say you love her

Once more

You were cut off with time

You didn't gave enough time to say or do what you needed to

And now she is isolated from you

You can't hug her

Can't wrap your arms tightly around her waist

And breathe in her familiar scent

You can't feel her run her hands through your hair

And kiss your forehead

The whispered, "I love you."

You'll never hear her say it again

You can only reminisce

Photos and "remember when's" last

But only for a while

Photos fade

And soon those memories get worn out

Tired of constantly trying to attach themselves

To you, because no matter how hard you try

You will forget

Forget those sweet and gentle touches and words

Times where your mishaps and mistakes

Made her laugh

Laugh that ridiculous laugh of hers

You will forget

What she smells like

And the sound of her voice

You will rip apart your mind searching

For a single shred of a memory

So you could remember, but

You're too late

Those memories are gone

Sunken down in the earth with her now

Why did she have to go?

You say you still need her here

With you in this world

Because you still feel alone

In a crowded room

But she said it was near her time

To die

Is it ever someone's time?

To leave the person closest to them

Confused and misguided?

You cannot deny this

People die, time passes, and lives change

Some love and appreciate their mothers

Others yell at them and disrespect them

Embarrassed by the way they dress

Or the jokes they make

When the day these moms will pass arrives

Those people will beg for more time, but

They had it their whole life

Stop them from dying? You can't

Make the most out of what you have

Be with them and love them

Until they die? No

Love unconditionally

Forever

Because that's what they are doing for you.
