She clings to him like no tomorrow
Numbing heart, broken sorrow
Each night is sacred; then he’s dead
She doesn’t see his face, just his empty head.

The dress clings tight to her curvy sides
Clubbing, lights, the memory hides.
The night, blasphemed, and for every one,
She’s with a new man when it’s done.

White-clothed arm clings to her father
She’s sad eyes, lost hope; he smiles from the altar.
That night she dances with her happy man,
But she still finds no comfort in his hand.
