Hey everybody,
so this is the English translation of my story "Vampire - Auch die Ewigkeit hat mal ein Ende". I had it uploaded somewhere else and never really considered putting it up here, too, until Oceania Beoul mentioned that she couldn't find an English version of the story but would like to read it. I then saw that, to my horror, the old translation was full of formatting problems and very bad English. And since I long since left that other site where i had it uploaded I decided to overhaul it and put it up here. So here are the Prologue and first 2 chapters of the story. The rest will follow bit by bit whenever I have finished something. Shouldn't take too long.
Sorry for any left over mistakes. If there's one thing that's more difficult than translating a story from one language into the other then it's finding the mistakes in an existing translation...
Reviews are, of course, always welcome.

P.S.: Every chapter is written in someone's POV and it's not always the same person.
Prologue
In the past, when mankind didn't know anything or only little about vampires, eternal life was still bearable for them. There was enough fresh blood. Even when someone noticed that garlic has an effect on the bloodsuckers, there still were mortals who did not believe in vampires. There wasn't always enough for everybody, but there still was blood to drink. But then the time came when mortals started to fear the vampires. Garlic was in every room, crosses over every door and around the mortals' necks. And of course there where lots of vampire hunters. Bad times broke for the undead. Now it was about life and death. They either had to get the mortals to stop using garlic and crosses, but for this they'd need some mortals who'd take away the fear of the others, or they'd have to move away and hope that wherever they went, people did not yet fear them. Or they'd have to starve slowly but surely.
