Julia
Evergreen fields
and and how we'd embody
Yellow in all
that we did!
Time has sapped
the vivid color
from my memories,
but archived they stay,
and no dust lay
upon their reeled
manifest.
Pulling each out,
they play a tad warped.
But I enjoy the scenes
and the mismatched events
that allow me to smile
and reminisce.
Five was the time
Our platonic love transcended
what our minds could muster,
and I wonder what
our reunion hug
would feel like
even today.
Your 10th year,
"Happy Birthday,
last we said until
a short meeting
in a chilly November
In our teens.
beeswaxed locks
fell upon peach flesh!
Oh how I missed you,
But now I am older --
and now we are the future
we dreamed of
under a brilliant Day-Star.
Drifting away,
my last recollection
is Julia's Grin and how
the squint in her eyes
as she blew gusts at
candled flames
gleamed and danced
the reflection of fire.
And the rising smokestrings
that I caught smell of
made her young dreams
fly away
like snow-white doves
in a white haze.
And her eyes opened
and flowers bloomed
and seas crashed
and the Earth quaked with a furious rapture.
But that was a warped memory
tainted by the sight
of Julia's Smile.
