A sigh escaped her Rena's lips, "When will you two grow up?" She muttered.
Neither brother made an attempt to reply to this.
"So who is this exactly?" Masato whispered to Rikago.
"The late Emperor's wife, but I have no idea what she's doing here," He replied just as quiet.
"You two stop mumbling!" She snarled, and glared their way.
They gulped in unison, "Sorry!"
Yuka closed her eyes and took everything in from the day; this was definitely not how she had wanted it to go. 'He is…the second Prince.'
"Funny, I thought you would be inside celebrating," The brown haired girl spun around to come face to face with the Princess.
"You knew?"
Madoka frowned, "About Ryou, yes."
"Why?"
"Didn't I tell you? He didn't want anyone to know."
"But it's not right, I wouldn't have cared-"
"Oh save it!" She snapped irritated.
Yuka blinked surprised, "W-what?"
"What about you? Didn't you lie about who you were? You're a spy sent to the court; you didn't exactly go around screaming it. So suck it up, your life is a lot better than mine."
The brunette bit her lip, "I don't know what happened to you or why you killed your father, but don't think you're such a goddamn saint either!"
Madoka stared at her in shock; a few seconds passed but a smile finally came to her lips. "Take care of him Yuka." She turned around and walked away, leaving the other one in thought.
She closed her green eyes and shook her head, "What the hell is wrong with this family?"
Ru rubbed his temples and reread the paper for the umpteenth time. "Why me?" He groaned not bothering to hide the contempt.
"It'll be good for you," Rikago laughed, "Maybe stop you from sleeping around so much."
"Hilarious," The prince rolled his eyes, "Regent to the new Monarch, why can't you do it?!"
The long haired man shrugged, "I'm an advisor, so I don't think I can be both. Besides, I'm not a part of her family."
"You will be when you marry her," he cracked up noticing the expression on the Advisor's face.
He turned back to the paper. "Feh, beloved sister."
First Prince Ru Tao,
As of this moment you are officially recognized as Regent to the throne. Please make up for my short comings and help me restore this country to peace.
I gave you the position; it's up to you to take care of yourself.
Your beloved sister
Footsteps echoed through his chambers, but Ryou didn't bother to look up. "Leave me alone," He mumbled dully.
"Really?" A sly voice sounded, and he spun around to face the smirking Yuka.
"No."
"I'm so sorry, I-"
"Don't be, I lied," He countered quickly.
"No, really, I am sorry. I was being a complete hypocrite, I lied as well. Worse than you."
He smiled, "As long as you forgive me-"
"I do, and…" She trailed off and looked away.
Ryou raised an eyebrow, "And what?"
She gulped and decided to spit it out, "You were everything I was suppose to hate, the title, the ego, everything! But when I met you, you were so freaking perfect, and I-I really like you Ryou!"
He froze, "Yuka, I-"
"Don't finish that please," Tears formed in her eyes, "I like Madoka, and I can get use to Ru, but this life you have it's not for me. I-I love you."
"Yuka-"
"But I can't be with you, I'm sorry." She turned and ran.
He fell to his knees.
"She committed suicide," Ru said, his voice a void of emotion.
"Big brother," Madoka bit her lip not sure of what to say.
"It's alright." He murmured and sent a smile her direction, "I'm alright."
"We'll arrange a proper burial; Ayako was one of the most respected Advisor's after all." Rikago murmured, and lead the Empress out.
"Get some rest," She mumbled before the door closed.
Three Months Later
"You're sure this is okay with you?" Her brother asked for the umpteenth time.
"Yes."
He looked at her curiously, "Thank you Madoka. I mean it."
She rolled her eyes, "Get lost Ryou, I have work."
He smirked and walked away shaking his head.
"This is allowed, I hope," Rikago smiled at the Empress's direction.
"Probably not," she murmured, and signed another paper, "But whatever."
"You really are nothing like your father, you know that?"
"Thank god for that, eh?"
He smiled and shook his head, 'Yeah.'
The door sprung open and a terrifyingly large stack of papers, being carried by Masato hit the table. "Good luck Princess." He mumbled massaging his arms.
She let out a laugh, "Thank you Advisor Ran."
He stuck a hand up before leaving.
"Why on earth is he still calling you that?"
She shrugged not answering, 'This really is how I want to spend the rest of my life…'
"I can't believe it!" Ru grumbled to Masato, the two had become fast friends. "She sent him to Shun Province! WHY?"
The older ran laughed at his antics, "That is where she is." A smirk came to their lips.
"Little brat thinks of everything!"
They shared a sigh.
Yuka was surprised to say the least when she found that one of her guest rooms had been taken over, but by who she had yet to known. The maids had refused to tell her and she didn't insist.
She let out a sigh, 'I seem to be doing that a lot lately.'
"Don't you know to knock before you come into someone else's room?" A familiar voice sounded.
She spun around so quick it made her dizzy. "R-ryou?!"
"One and the same," he smirked.
"What are you doing here?" The excitement in her voice was audible. 'Probably a visit,' she thought afterwards, downcast.
"I live here, what does it look like?" He grumbled playfully.
She blinked, "What?"
He rolled his eyes, "I see we're going to have to take this slowly." He dragged out the last word. "I live here now." Once again dragging out the second word.
"But you're the Prince-"
"Yeah, about that…"
"You abdicated your position?" She said in disbelief, "And what caused this moment of brilliant judgment?" Sarcasm dripped through her voice.
"I believe it was a confession," he replied slowly, giving the impression he was thinking hard about something.
"Ryou?" She breathed.
"I love you, Yuka, and I'll do anything to be with you." He smiled genuinely, "Anything."
Yuka bit her lip, tears came to her eyes, "You idiot!" She ran to him.
He caught her and they embraced.
"I love you too."
A/N: The ending is so clique -.- But I've been wanting to write it up forever now! Well since the sixth chapter at least. Well this is the first story in that I have finished, god I'm so happy!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, not just to everyone that reviewed, but to everyone that stuck with me till the end. You have no idea how much that means to me.
I love you all!
