Katashi Academy: A Miracle

Chapter 1

I leaped back with a gasp, completely awestruck. I was in total shock. A guy just kissed me. A male student just kissed me on the lips! He laughed a little at my shocked expression, which snapped me back to reality.

"Wh-wh-what did you... w-why did you just... What is wrong with you?!" I practically screeched at him.

He gave me a satisfied smirk and casually replied, "That's a little reward for helping me out earlier." He gave me a wink and started to walk off.

"R-reward? Who asked you for a reward?!" He gave me one last wave of his fingers before he turned the corner and left. This all began when I was chosen as the school bullies' next victim.

I always eat my lunch alone behind the school, under a large tree. No one ever comes back there because of some ridiculous rumor one of the students made up a few years ago. Apparently, one of the teachers hung himself from this tree ten years ago, when the school was just built. But in actuality, that teacher was caught having a relationship with one of his students, and after he was fired, he disappeared from the area without a word. The story was kept a secret from everyone except the headmaster, the student's parents, and a few teachers. The only reason I know is because my uncle used to teach here, and he told me the real story when I asked him about the rumor.

Unfortunately for me though, a few of the rather unpleasant guys in our school came behind the school to "hang out." When I heard them coming, I hid up in the tree. I was surprised to see the three boys pull out cigarettes. I never liked the smell of cigarettes, so, of course, I just had to start coughing. They heard me, and their leader, Katsu, roughly pulled me out of the tree and threw me to the ground.

"What do we have here, guys? Ah, this is that shrimpy little first year that's always doing errands for the teachers! What should we do with him, huh? He knows we smoke now, " Katsu leered at me. One of the other guys pulled me up by my collar and threatened me.

"You aren't thinking of telling on us, right? Huh, you little weakling?" Whenever I think back on this, I always wonder why I had to have such a big mouth.

"I am not a weakling! I don't care if you idiots smoke! Now let me go!" One of the biggest mistakes of my life.

The guy holding me roughly threw me against the tree. Before I had a chance to stand up, he kicked me in the side and yelled," What did you say you little shit? How about I mess that girly face of yours up?!" I stayed where I was because I was officially scared. These guys are the biggest trouble makes in the school! Why, oh, why did I have to piss them off? Them of all people!

"Calm down. I'll handle this shrimp," Katsu said calmly. That scared me more than anything. He grabbed me by the neck and said to me, "Now, be a good boy and keep this a secret. Got that?" When I didn't answer, due to the fact that he was choking me, he repeated louder, "Got that?" I nodded my head the best I could and he dropped me to the ground.

"Good. Now, I suggest you stay away from here from now on. In the meantime, you guys do what you want with him. I'm late for a little date." With that, he was gone, leaving me with his two buddies. Leaving me with his two angry buddies. All I could think was, "I am so dead."

The one who grabbed me earlier picked me up by my collar again, while the other one prepared to punch me. I flinched and expected the worst, but after a few seconds of waiting in agony, I opened my eyes to find a miracle.
