A Complicated One
Summary: This is another story part of the Compass High Schools Series. (Look at the other stories in this series: "Not Another Urban Fiction" coming from North High School, home of the Pirates. "If Lovin' You Is Wrong" coming from South High School, home of the Diablos. And "A New Affection", a continued and more up-to-date of one of my other releases, coming from West High School, home of the Eagles.) Now, this story is a little different. This story is taking place in East High School, which is home to the Vikings. This is the story of two of the most nerdest students in the school, who make a plan to become popular. Kyle Sanders and Meagan Alexander, become study-buddies and the school starts to believe that they are fooling around (courtesy of Kyle and Meagan's best friends). With the help of each other and their families, they change their appearance and later become the school's cutest couple, but will the school allow them to be together? Will other people be attracted to them? Will they continue to be the bookworms they were before? Will they ever feel the same way they felt the first day they touched hands on the same book in the school's library? Read and Review. Maybe you will find out the answer. Because, I don't even know yet.
Chapter One
'Where is that book? I know it is in here somewhere. I saw it when I came down here a few weeks ago for freshman orientation. It has to be here somewhere.' Kyle thought as he looked around the school's library for his favorite book series of all time "How to Make a Scene". The most recent book was about girls trying to change geeks to gentlemen, all on a bet. He hated to see it happen to some of his favorite characters, but in reality, he wanted it to happen to him. Anything to have a girl talk to him.
When he came across the book, he reached for it but instead of grabbing the book he grabbed a soft hand. A female's hand.
"Oops! Sorry," she said moving her hand and turning away.
"No, it's my fault. You can take it," Kyle looked at her. She was beautiful. He couldn't help but smile at her. She smiled back at him. "I'm sorry about that. You can take the book. I will just read it after you. I wasn't really trying to read it today anyways. I just wanted to start before someone else got to it. But, it's okay, you can take it." He paused for a breath.
She extended her hand for him to shake. "I'm Meagan."
He reached for it and took hold of it. "I'm Kyle."
His hands started sweat instantly, so he removed his hand quickly and laughed nervously. She did the same but looked down. She observed his clothes. Brown worker boots, tan cargo pants on his waist with a belt wrapped around, a loose-fitting button-up brown and tan shirt that had the top button undone. His face was free of acne and bumps, it was smooth. His blue eyes sparkled to her. His hair was long and bushy, it was all over the place.
Compared to her, he looked like a knight in shining armor. Meagan had on white sneakers, a long blue and black plaid skirt, and a long-sleeve black sweater. Her hair was long and went down to the middle of her back. Her glasses were on the edge of her nose, and she had to keep pushing them closer to her eyes. Behind them, Kyle saw her beautiful chestnut-colored eyes. Kyle thought she was stunning.
"It's nice to meet you Kyle," she said shyly.
There was silence. Neither one of them knew what to say to each other. They stood their for a few seconds. Kyle, looked at the clock and figured that he wouldn't mind being late to his classes.
"You can take the book if you want to," Meagan said breaking his thoughts. "I don't mind. I could go and buy it."
Kyle looked at her. He didn't want her to give up so easily. But most importantly, he didn't want her to walk away. He wanted to know more about her. He already knew that she too was a fan of his favorite book series of all time.
"No, you can just take it. That's alright."
Meagan smiled, but hid it from him. She was embarrassed of her new braces. Kyle couldn't understand why. He thought the black braces on her purely whites were what brought her facial features out more.
"Well, I guess I should get going," she said grabbing the book and leaving.
"Bye," Kyle said shyly, watching her walk away.
She looked over her shoulder and said, "I'll see you around Kyle."
"Yeah," he said letting out a sigh of relief. He whispered to himself, "Maybe more then I know."

Author's Note: Yeah man!! This is going to be a good one. I kinda had to rush through this chapter because I was so excited about posting it. I couldn't wait any longer. Well, I will write more when I have the time. I have to work and get ready for my college-level class. (Worth 2 college credits). Anyways, tell me what you think about the story and if you want anything added, let me know. Thanks for reading!! Now, please go and review. I really do need more people to read my stories and give me feedback and/or ways that I could improve my writing skills. I ned all of the help I can get. Why? Because I want to get better and make it pro. You know. Publish all of my books and everything. I have so many other stories that you guys haven't even seen yet. But I will keep you up-to-date with all of the stories. I will return the favor. When I get time of course. And when I do, I will re-do my whole profile page on FictionPress, FanFiction, and MySpace. So, make sure you hit me up as soon as possible. Okay? Thanks again. Don't forget to read my other stories, which I will be updating very soon. "Two Sisters and a Mic" will be getting updating real soon. Possibly, I will finish one of my stories, by the end of the summer. Maybe, "If Lovin' You Is Wrong". Just a secret, I should share, I'm coming out with a second part of that story. So make sure you keep in touch to check that out. Okay? Okay. I'm done now.
