First version sucked, trying again. Idea that came from the song Lighthouse by The Hush Sound. It's haunting and beautiful. I highly suggest you should check the song out. Anything underlined in this story, I don't own. The Hush Sound is awesome and anything I write would never match up to them, so I don't plan on taking credit for it.

In the small, shabby bar clouded with smoke, Susan James slumped downheartedly in her chair. The soft plinkity-plink of a piano started up softly. Susan didn't even notice.

'I hate you! Hate you!'

Was that really her voice, so filled with hate? Her voice? Something didn't sound right with it.

'Don't talk to me.'

'Look, babe, I'm sorry.'

'I hate you! Hate you!'

"Hey, babe." Susan jumped. A man she didn't know was sitting next to her. Oh great, she thought, what does this pervert want? Just another perv who wanted her for her looks, who would soon get bored with her... cheat on her.

'Don't talk to me.'

His breath reeked of alcohal. "What's such a pretty girl like you-"

"Hey, man, you hitting on my girl?" A tall, muscular man had stepped up behind Susan. Unlike most people, he looked sober. He smiled at her in a friendly way.

"Uh... no..." he walked away, muttering to himself.

"Thanks." She blushed as he smiled.

"Don't mention it." He smiled. He seemed so... sinsere. More sincere than him...

'Look, babe, I'm sorry.'

'I hate you! Hate you!"

A new song began on the piano. "May I have this dance?" He smiled.

"I'd be delighted." Susan said.

"I'm Brian, by the way." He said.

"Susan." She said. A woman's voice began singing with the piano.

"Take what you need while there's time

The city will be earth in a short while

If I'm not mistaken, it's been in flames

you and I will escape to the seaside."

The room started to spin. "Susan?" Brian asked, but Susan didn't hear. Black.

Susan was confused. She was staring at a man, sitting on a dock. He said to her, "Jane, while I'm gone, promise me something."

A voice she did not know escaped her lips. "Anything."

"Wait for me." he said. "In the lighthouse."

"Of course, James. Of course." Black again.

Newspaper headline: UNIDENTIFIED BODY FOUND IN LOCKED LIGHTHOUSE, then, JAMES SMITH LOST AT SEA.

Next, Susan was drowning. Jane appeared before her; she was singing, but she couldn't tell what.

"Lighthouse...waited for him... locked... died... he never came home... Lighthouse... don't go in... evil..."

She was pulled out of the water. Black.

"Let's hide in the lighthouse." Her love was standing by her.

"We can't." She persisted.

"It's just a stupid childhood fear. It's just a lighthouse."

"Okay, I guess we don't have a choice."

"We went in, we

climbed up and looked out

the door locked from the outside

3 ghosts in a lighthouse."

"Give her room, let her breathe." Brian said.

"Brian?" Susan mumbled.

"Come now, I'll take you to a hospital."

"Okay..."

On the way there the car stopped.

"Oh, darn, the car stopped," Brian said, "But look, Susan, a lighthouse. Maybe we could find help there."

Well... this is certainly better than the first one... review!
