Falcon Spirit—part 2
This is another nano! This time, it had to be a sequel to another nano, so I chose Falcon Spirit-part 1. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
I staggered to a standing position at the top of the cliff. It has been a week since my master and his tribe had been taken. I had taken off a day after to trail them; to see where my master’s half brother had went.
But how hard was it to trail five hundred people? Apparently, as I found out a few days ago, very hard.
However, I had found their camp a few hours ago. I flew, exhausted, to the foot of their camp, which was at the top of a huge cliff; it was a perfect place, it had food, and water, and a view of the whole camp and my master.
My master’s half brother’s tribe outnumbered my master’s own tribe by at least two hundred. I could tell now, that my master’s tribe was being held hostage, and I think my master was getting the worst of it.
But why did his half brother do this? Did he have a certain grudge against him? I guess I will never find out.
Then something that was about to happen caught my eye. My master’s half brother raised a knife to my master’s throat. Every time that my master was threatened, I grew angry at the person who was threatening him. I gathered all my strength, half of which I had no idea was there, and screeched and dove down at my master’s half brother.
The screech I had let out made my master’s half brother stop in his tracks and look up to the sky. My master and his tribe also looked up.
I didn’t hesitate one second as I tried to knock the knife out of my master’s half brother’s hands. I was so close, just inches away when something knocked me back.
I screeched in surprise as I flew up to the skies again and tried again. But the same thing happened again.
I landed on my feet this time, and glanced at my master and then his brother. My master had a worried expression on his face, while his half brother looked at me with a smug expression. All of a sudden, I was pushed back again by some invisible force.
When I had regained myself, two things happened. One, I was surrounded my master’s half brother’s tribe. They held weapons that allowed no room for me to escape, unless I flew up into the skies. Two, I figured why I was not able to touch my master’s half brother. He was a magician.
In my and my master’s old land, we only had one or two magicians at a time. They were good, taught to help others. However, my master’s half brother was a bad magician. This proved why he was so powerful to his own people. This also proved to me that I could not take him on.
With a heavy heart, I flew to the skies again and looked down at my master. I knew what I had to do, even though I didn’t want to.
I looked at him once more, him sensing what I was about to do. He smiled at me, somehow giving me permission to leave.
I blinked, and flew toward the north, leaving my master and his people.
If I was going to rescue my master and his people, I couldn’t do it by myself. I needed help.
I was going to my and my master’s homeland where I could possibly find help. Upon leaving, I caught a smug look on my master’s half brother. How I longed to hurt him the same way he hurt my master all those years ago.
Thanks so much for reading!
