Sometimes I lack a hunger

Or thirst for more of you

I stop eating your bread of life

I stop drinking your living water.

Why do I do this?

Why am I so lazy?

I don't even raise your cup to my lips

The one that has everlasting life!

This world is a desert

And your living water is right there

Would I be so lazy

to lay in your oasis and die of thirst?

A beggar offered bread is grateful

Yet I've been shrugging my shoulders

Do I think so highly of my self

To not eat the bread of LIFE?

Lord, I want to be hungry

I want to thirst for more!

I've been eating worldly food

Filling, but does not last.

I want to drink of your living water

And eat the bread of life

Make me thirsty

Make me hungry.
