Don't tell me that I'm smart,
When I just flunked a test.
Don't tell me that I'm pretty,
When I just fell in the mud.
Don't tell me that I'm nice,
When I just made her cry.
Don't tell me that I have talent,
When I just fell off the stage.
Don't tell me that I'm something else,
Because I know what I am.
I wrote this not to say that I am stupid, ugly, or mean. I wrote this because I don't want to hear what will make me feel good. I want to hear the truth. If you are going to say something, tell the truth; don't lie. Don't tell me what I want to hear, tell me what I need to hear. This is just one of my views on life. You may or may not agree with me, but oh well. But trust me, telling someone what they need to hear will help them out more in the end than telling them what they want to hear.
