We Looked at the Stars

I guess I lied,

Now that I think about it.

About laying and watching the stars.

The light's reflection

In your eyes.

I realize.

As I lay here reading,

words sculpted in your face.

Filled with stars

that shine on and on.

I see through the window

To your soul,

so strong

and comforting.

So many words spoken,

Without moving our mouths.

We've been watching the stars a long time.

But in these city skies,

Sometimes their hard to see.
