Veils

Gossamer thin fabric encapsulates me,

Shrouding my form in bright colored shadow.

Around me leaping, prancing gaily to and fro

My veil shields me.

Thin trails of ever changing light

shift around my form, guiding me,

aiding me in the telling of my story.

My hips circle in this ever changing shroud,

Bringing you closer.

My body sways seductively in this style

Many would not call dance.

This in itself is my veil, my façade.

Within this sway and swish of my body

Lies the form of a little girl giving into

The joy of this dance.

The joy of a little girl now grown,

Dancing in the shroud of her brightly

Colored veil.

Again, the gossamer thin shadow encapsulates me,

Shrouding me in bright colored shadow as the light fades.
