The Third Candle by AndromedaMarine
--
I watch as the flame licks the air.
Timeless as any, a flame bears
stature.
Orange light bites the night darkness,
Telling a tale
older than life.
--
Three sit in sight, all burning light.
The wind is the enemy of
fire.
Two in forefront and one out of sight -
But only two
burn bright.
--
The angel Air takes claim to one,
Causing the flame to die.
I
look up at the sky and say,
I see three candles, but only two
flames.
--
The silence stalks the calm of rain
and whispers loudly to the
flames.
"Come nigh and seek" no more time remains
"You
two live, but the third candle no longer shines."
