Dancing Lights

Let the poison pill slither down your throat,

So weightless away from worries you can float,

One pill, two pill, three pill, four,

Falling upwards to the floor,

Watch new lights dance to and fro,

Forgetting what you ought to know,

That you’re doing more than you said you would,

More than we both know you should,

The day came when I tried to show my concern,

From what I have seen you could learn,

But it’s not a problem you lie,

You pop one more and say goodbye,

Walking away from those you called friends,

Deluding yourself by any ends,

How can you see these mistakes as worth making?

How many risks are worth taking?

Towards a crash your life you steer,

But it’s the truth not death that you fear,

For your escapism you feel no remorse,

So I’m sure you’ll leave a smiling corpse,

One pill, two pill, three pill four,

Gone to where lights are dancing forevermore.
