Grounded

You found your wings then you walked away,

I could only wonder why you did not stay,

If you had I could have taught you how to fly,

Above us all you would touch the sky,

You had a chance for which most could only dream,

But you weren’t a dreamer it would seem,

I saw much potential in this gift I’d found,

But you preferred the safety of the ground,

With little head to all that I had to say,

You and your wings walked away,

And on that day part of me did die,

Because I the dreamer could never fly.
