“WOOHOO!”Jesse screamed, jumping up with his hands raised, throwing the PS2 controller in front of him, his twin sister Jessica looked up at him and rolled her eyes.
“It was just a game, so shut up and sit down.” She ordered, tugging on her younger brother’s shirt, and making him fall. He turned to look at her with a goofy smile on his face.
“Aww, you’re just mad that I beat you. I bet its eating you up inside.” Jesse said, still grinning, and earning a smack to the side of his head.
“I said shut up. Besides how many games have you lost so far tonight, huh?” She smirked at him, and he thought for a second.
“Eleven?” He guessed, and checked the TV screen for the all the games they had played that were recorded. Jesse nodded, he had counted correctly.
“And how many games have you won tonight, including the one just now?” Jessica asked, still smirking.
“One?”
“Yes, good boy!” She patted his head, much like she would a dog, and Jesse pouted. And to make it even worse, “Besides, I ‘let’ you win.”
“What!?” Jesse practically squeaked, horrified. She didn’t really, did she?
“Do you actually think ‘you’ could beat ‘me’, especially since you do the same move each and every time?” Jessica started laughing, while Jesse was falling farther and farther into despair.
“NOOOOOO!” Jesse screamed and got up, and started blindly running towards the direction of the basement door, up the stairs onto the little landing in front of the door, and was about to open it when it came and smacked him in the head, making him fall on his back and almost down the stairs.
“Jesse, what do you think you’re doing,” his mother said looking down at him, eyebrow raised. She had opened the door when he was about to open it, and hit him.
“Mom! Jessica is being mean!” He pouted, looking up at her from the ground and holding his head.
“No I wasn’t, besides, I can’t help it if my brother’s a wimp.” Jesse looked at her with a hurt expression.
“Take that back! I am not!”
“Stop arguing, you two.” Their mother told them, “Besides, Jesse, you need to go to bed so you can get up early for your first day of school here.” With that she shut the basement door and walked away.
Jesse got up off the floor and looked at his sister and went over to her with a sad look on his face. She sighed and got up, and then grinned, “Race ya!” And took off, Jesse chasing after her, laughing.
“Time to get up!” Jesse’s mom called into the room he and Jessica shared. Jessica was already up and getting ready. Jesse just groaned and rolled over, falling back asleep, only to be woken up again when his sister pounced on him.
“Get up, lazy butt. Its time for your first day of school, you need to get ready.” Jesse finally got up and headed towards the bathroom to take a shower.
He was not in a good mood, he didn’t get any sleep last night because of nervousness. Today he was going to start attending Jess’s school. It was going to be the start of the second semester, so he wasn’t going to be missing too much.
When they were five years old, they’re parents got a divorce. They’re dad took Jesse, while they’re mom took Jessica. Now, eleven years later, Jesse’s dad was really sick and had to stay in a hospital, and Jesse was sent to live with his mom. He was now seventeen years old and was a junior in high school. Also, his last name was different then his sister's and mother's, because they're mom took back her maiden name, and changed Jessica's to it as well.
“Hurry up! I need the bathroom, too, you know!” His sister banged on the bathroom door, and Jesse quickly got out and dressed, then went over and unlocked the door, but didn’t leave, instead going over to the sink and getting his toothbrush. Jessica came in and got her toothbrush as well.
“Aren’t you going to eat anything first?” She asked, looking at his reflection in the mirror.
“I don’t think I’d be able to get anything down if I did.” He replied, and she left it at that. She knew better then to make him eat when he was nervous about something, he’d just end up getting sick.
"You're forehead's red." She stated. Jesse put his fingers up to the spot on his head, and winced. It was from when he ran into the door.
"It hurts." He told her and she just shrugged.
“You remember what we talked about last night?” She spit out the toothpaste and looked over at him, he nodded, and spit as well.
Last night when the two were in bed, trying to go to sleep, she had suddenly came up with the plan to fool all her friends. She had told him that she wasn’t going to tell her friends that they were brother and sister, and see if they could figure it out. Of course they were going to act like they knew each other, say they became friends over Christmas break or something. Jesse had agreed.
They had done this before, actually. They would act around people as if they were just friends and not related, it always surprised people when they found out otherwise.
Also, they were fraternal twins, and wouldn’t be as easily compared to each other, though there were some similarities. Jesse had short dark red hair, while Jessica’s was long and a light brownish red. Jesse was also two inches taller. Jesse was more like they’re mother, while soft, fine features, while Jessica’s face was more angular. One thing that was exactly the same for both of them was they’re eyes. The left one and the right one were different colors, the left one being green and the right blue.
Not a lot of people where able to tell the difference of the color of they’re eyes unless they were close enough, so not a lot of people noticed.
“So, I’ll see you at school. When you get off the bus, just follow where everyone else is going and you’ll get to the main doors and I’ll try and meet you there, all right?” Jessica said. Jesse nodded and went to get his school things ready while his sister went downstairs, and out the front door, where one of her friends where already waiting for her.
About ten minutes later, he was was waiting for the bus at the bus stop to be taken to his new prison.
