Yesterday to Tomorrow
Aristotle started to ask why,
To understand the world he did try,
He thought away till he did die,
William Shakespeare wrote his life away,
The greatest creator of his day,
Herald of both poem and play,
Einstein was about as wise a man as there could be,
His scientific ideas shaped the world we now see,
His political ones should have been made more key,
Shel wrote his poems with such great care,
Into the world he brought love to share,
Like the giving tree he gave all he had to spare,
For there greatness how do we repay,
We let there names slowly fade away,
Uncared for by the masses,
That creates my generation’s classes,
Consumerism subliminally rules today’s mind,
So intellectualism and emotion fall behind,
The lowest common denominator will keep getting lower,
When you apply to it you make the whole world slower,
Until the artists paint brushes all go dry,
The poets and musicians cease to try,
So though not as great as those above,
I will make this my plea for all I love,
I unburden my whole soul to you,
To open your mind is all I would have you do,
So will you think again and feel something real,
Or to a mediocre fate will you place the seal?
