Summary

He needed a girlfriend to prove his father that he indeed had one, she was bored and wanted to know what it was like to have a boyfriend. They found each other useful for their situation. I did some sketches of some of the characters  “Just Drawing… colors in light and darkness” at Worpress. com

Chapter 01: “A Big Favor”

“Hey, Karine. I got the movie schedule.” Said a boy with dark messy hair.

“Oh, great. Be right there with you.” The girl named Karine answered. The green haired girl was talking with two of her friends in a bench of the small park that was inside their college, when the boy came. The girl stood up, ready to go but her friends stopped her before she could make a move.

“Wait!” Exclaimed Christine, holding her hand so she could not leave. The boy stared at them from some distance.

“What?”

“What do you mean with what? Since when are you seeing Fye?” Christine threw her question at her friend.

“Well, we see him on our class since this semester; have you forgotten that he is in our Research class?” Karine answered half mocking.

“I know that but-” Christine was cut by a more excited and surprised friend called Rain.

“Are you two dating or something?”

With the question, all their eyes were fixed in their green haired friend. She only blinked.

“We are only going to watch a movie. No big deal.” Karine stated the fact in a carefree manner. “Besides, you two won’t go with me, so I have to look for someone else to go with.”

“But-” Christine and Rain spoke at the same time.

“You know, he is waiting and I don’t want to be rude so I am leaving. If something happens I will tell you guys. Bye!”

Karine freed her hand to grab her black backpack and walked to meet the boy, knowing that her friends were gaping at her. She mentally smiled.

“What happened? They looked surprised.” He said when she reached him.

“Nothing. They just questioned the fact that we are watching a movie together.” She started to talk while walking beside him.

“You have not told them that you are my girlfriend now, have you?” He asked grinning at her. His violet eyes were fixed on her to see her reaction.

“Nope, not yet,” she responded calmed. “We are not that official, you know?”

“We are not?” Fye asked amused, putting his arm around her shoulder. Easy for him since he was taller. “I remember you said ‘yes’ when I asked you.”

“False. I said ‘ok’”

“Still counts as a yes, don’t you think?”

“Whatever.” She rolled her golden eyes. He chuckled. “By the way, you are paying for the tickets.”

“Sure, and the snacks too.” His right arm never leaving her shoulder.

She smiled. ‘I guess he is not that bad, after all. At least I won’t get bored.’ At that time, something heavy brought her back to reality.

“Hey, you are taking this girlfriend-boyfriend thing pretty serious, aren’t you?” she mentioned, pointing at his arm when she noticed he was lost.

“Oh, you mean this?” he inquired squeezing her right shoulder. “I thought I would be better if we try to be more natural so when the time comes it won’t be awkward.”

“Guess you have a point. So what is it gonna be?”

“How about ‘Hancock’ at 7pm?” The black haired boy suggested while they were still walking out the campus.

“How romantic for our first date,” she mused sarcastically out loud.

He laughed. “We can change it if you want.”

“No, it’s ok. I like action.”

“Cool.”

What I’ve Done by Linkin Park

“Oh, my cell!” Karine went for her backpack looking for her phone. Finally getting it, she saw on the screen: Ciel.

“What a miracle!” she exclaimed to the other person calling her.

“Hi, you too.”

Karine laughed, “Sorry, I just got used to tell you that. Hi.”

“How are you?” her friend Ciel asked.

“Good, I think. You?”

“I’m good too. Just finished my Spanish classes.”

“Cool. You have a great timing! I have something interesting to tell you.”

“Perfect! Because I was bored and done with the zapping. There is nothing on T.V.” Ciel complained and heard Karine laughed. “So what is the news?”

“Well, I kind of got myself a boyfriend.” Karine said giggling.

“What?! Who??” Ciel heard her laugh again. “Now, I get it. You are joking, right?”

“No, I am telling you the truth,” Karine spoke still giggling a little.

“Really? Then who is it?”

“Why the hurry, Ciel?” She asked amused.

“Not hurry, just curious about the lucky guy who charmed my best friend.” Now Ciel was the one laughing.

“Yeah, yeah. Although, we are not really a couple.”

“If you are not a couple, then how is he your boyfriend?” Ciel was on her bedroom, lying on her bed trying to figure out what was on her friends head. “I don’t remember you mentioning any particular boy when we talked before.”

“It was kind of spontaneous.”

“Care to explain, please. Now you got me interested,” said the girl with sky-blue hair sitting on her bed.

“Ok. You remember me talking about how bored I was living here alone, right?” Started Karine. The young woman was sitting on her sofa watching the dark sky through her window.

“Yes.”

“I found someone who might help me with that problem.”

“Try to be more specific, will you?”

“Ok, ok. It was like I told you: I was bored. And he needed a girlfriend.”

“Why?”

“Not sure. He said something about his father. He lied to him saying that he had a girlfriend.”

“Again: why?”

“Dunno the reason. The thing is that he said that he needed some girl to play along with him as his girlfriend, so his father would not find out that he was lying.”

“Do you have more details?”

Karine stopped to think. “Not really,” she stopped again. “I think- he said something about that he spends some of his time out of his house, that is why his father got suspicious. When he asked him about it, he said that he was seeing a girl hoping that it would be enough. The point is that he does not want his father to know what he is doing while he is out.”

“And you are ok with it?” Karine noticed the worry in her voice.

“If I feel something is wrong I will finish this game. Although I don’t think he is like that. That’s why I agreed with it. I trust my intuition.”

“If you say so, I guess is ok. You don’t usually get things wrong when you follow your intuition.” She laughed. “Lucky you.”

“Thanks, I guess.”

“Now tell me how it happened!” Ciel spoke excited.

Karine let a loud sigh out. “We have the same class, so we got to see each other often and-”

The sky-blue haired girl lost patience, “Will you tell me who is he?!”

Her friend laughed out loud. “Ok, ok, don’t have to be aggressive, you know?”

“So?”

“His name is Fye…” She waited for the reaction.

“Fye?”

“Yes, Fye.”

…

“Oh!! Fye, I remember him now! You mentioned him before!” Ciel started to laugh. “The handsome boy with purple eyes! It’s him, right?!”

“Yes, I am glad you remember him,” Karine said not so excited. “You can stop your laughing now.”

“Sorry,” she apologized still laughing a little. “Go on.”

“Since now you know who he is, I’ll go straight to the subject. We saw each other at class, we started to talk, we became friends -not that close thou- and it just happened. It was-” she thought about it before speaking, “awkward.”

“Awkward?”

“Yeah. He just suddenly asked me when we were hanging around last week. We were alone of course. Christine was somewhere else looking for some papers and Rain already went home.”

“What did he said?”

“Let me think,” she told her, “He said something about us having chemistry; that he enjoyed spending time with me and that he needed a really big favor.”

“So he just blurted it out?”

“Yeah. He looked so serious that I couldn’t say no. And then he asked me if I could pretend to be his girlfriend. And I was like ‘what?’”

Laughs were heard by the green-hair girl. “Just like that?! He is kind of—brave? I think.”

“Maybe. With my ‘what?’ he repeated his request. I wish you have being there! The look of his face was priceless! Then I thought about it and said ‘ok’”

“How simple!”

“He is nice enough that I can have a good time with him and he is good looking. I don’t have much to lose, only time when I’m bored.”

“And what will happen if you actually fell in love?”

“Not sure. I will deal with that if it happens. You know it’s not easy for that to happen.”

“Oh yes. We are speaking of the girl who never had a boyfriend and she is already in her twenties.”

“Hey, easy on that. I could say the same to you and you are older than me.”

“Low blow. Did something else happen between you two?”

Karine acted like she was thinking it. “We had our first date today.”

The friend on the other phone line chuckled. “You went on your first date but you were already a couple. That’s funny.”

“May I keep it in mind, for you, that we are not a real couple?”

Ciel rolled her eyes but her friend could not see it. “Anyway, how was it? You first date?”

Now Karine was smiling. “That my dear friend is another story.”

“You win, I win” is my first story/novel that I am uploading that is not a fanfic but my own creation. I find this story quite interesting and hope I will continue, if you people want it too of course, since the comments and reviews are really encouraging!
