Name: Out of Boston
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Two dozen high school students are headed to France for Spring Break, two district schools converging as strangers to travel through three cities in nine days. Bella is trying to escape the memory of a bad break-up, using the trip to abscond. Everything bad left at home, she boards a flight from Boston to Paris and befriends a French resident.
Authors Note: This is loosely based on my trip to France in 2007.

Top 10 Reasons I Need to Go to France
10. Everyone has permission from his or her parents to drink. Can you say party?
9. I get to be away from my family for a whole nine days. No mother nagging me, no father repelling disappointment on me, no snooty little sister getting me into trouble.
8. I’m about to be a senior. I earned this.
7. This trip actually has two schools going, including mine, so there are, at max, twelve other people my age going with. That means this is exclusivity. No one else is going to know what happens on this trip. And we all know how I love exclusivity.
6. And one of the most attractive guys in school…whom I have been friends with since freshman year.
5. My two best friends are going.
4. It’s France! Who can say no to France? And Paris?
3. If one more person asks how I’m doing, if I’m okay, I’m going to strangle them. Or punch them. Scowl at the least.
2. So much has happened in the past three months, I just need to get away. Even if ‘away’ actually means being on another continent.
1. "Hey, Bella. It’s Pete. Uh, look, I heard that you’re leaving for France or something like that tomorrow, but I think you should know that I broke up with Casey today. And, honestly, I can’t get you out of my head. I want to get back together. Give us another try, you know. So call me before you leave. Bye."
