Andy tried to talk to me today, but too bad! I have better things to do than play with him. Mom said I should be nicer to him, but she can’t make me. He’s the one who was a jerk first.

The neighbors stopped looking after me so I got to visit Todavia. His lawn’s starting to get weeds and they’re growing in the cracks of the sidewalk too. He said he’s thinking about getting a gardener. Why bother? Mr. Curo would probably pull the weeds for free.

There’s still a bad smell around his house. I think it’s even worse. He didn’t want to talk about it. Even though I came over he didn’t talk about the ghosts either. When are we going to talk about them? Maybe after he deals with the smell? I asked if he wanted me to find out where it’s coming from but he told me to go home. It’s put him in a pretty bad mood.

I knew it was a bad idea, I knew it was! The smell was really bugging me, I had to find out where it was, so I waited until Todavia went inside to play his piano. It wasn’t even that late yet, but I guess it was late enough. The ghost was in his tool shed.

The smell is definitely coming from there, and it’s worse than I thought. It’s like rotten meat and bad eggs, a stucked toilet- I don’t even know. It was too dark to see what was in there stinking like that, but not dark enough for the ghost. It was huge up close, and it moved for me, and it made a noise, and- I couldn’t help it, I screamed and ran out of there. Todavia might have yelled something because of me but I don’t know.

All that was bad enough, but now I think it’s come after me! I was trying to go to sleep and I heard something moving around outside. I can’t go look at what it is, I don’t want to know, not now. I hope I didn’t make the ghost follow me.

Two days and it’s still showing up at my house. Mom and dad wouldn’t believe me if I told them, and they’ve slept through it every time so far. I try not to hear it but it’s getting too hard. I can hear it moving through the bushes! Why won’t it just leave me alone? I don’t know what to do. It’s not like I have my own piano!

What is going on here? I feel like I’m going crazy or something. Am I going to end up like Todavia? Who can help me?

Tonight was too much. The ghost was crashing around and keeping me up, then it called to me. It knows my name! I never heard any of Todavia’s ghosts calling his name. What was I supposed to do, wait for it to come in and talk to me in person? I ran out of my room and left out the back door so I wouldn’t see it. The only place I could think to go was Todavia’s house. Like it’s any safer!

They’re all out to get us, I swear. It took me a while banging on his door to hear the crashing going on inside, but I didn’t care. It’s better being in the house with him and whatever’s going on in there than to stay outside in the dark where my ghost could catch up to me. That’s what I thought, anyway, until it opened the door instead of him.

The lights were all on inside and it was completely black standing in the doorway. I looked right at it, it was at least as big as a man. It sure wasn’t human with those ears. Or were they horns? I still don’t know, I screamed and ran away so fast. The ghost must have gotten Todavia. I need help!

Oh... I’m so mad. The ghosts scared me so bad, I told mom and dad they had to go see Todavia because I thought he was in trouble. They wouldn’t call the police and they were mad that I went over there again, but we all went down Calle road to check on him. I thought we’d find the place empty and wrecked, and then they’d call the police, but we didn’t. Todavia answered the door after a little while and everything was fine. Now I’m getting in trouble again. I just don’t get it. If the ghost didn’t get Todavia last night, what happened?

Andy’s going to sleep over this weekend. I don’t get a say in it, mom’s setting up the whole thing. Fine, then. He can stay up listening to the ghost. I’m going to go to Todavia’s house. I need to know what happened last time.

It was easier sneaking out than I thought. Andy fell asleep before me. I left before the ghost could start its racket, and Todavia’s house was quiet too. I think he’s getting used to me coming at night because he didn’t look too surprised to see me.

He had me sit on the couch and tell him what happened. I didn’t tell him I looked in his shed, but I told him almost everything else. I thought he’d be surprised that one of his ghosts followed me but he didn’t even say anything about it knowing my name. It wasn’t until I asked about the ghost with the long ears that he had anything to say.

I got to meet the ghost that haunts Todavia the most. He even gave it a name, Secibien. It’s kind of strange, I think he might actually like the ghost even though he has fights with it. He said it’s frisky as a rabbit. That thing was no rabbit. He talked like it was a pet or something.

That’s the worst part. Todavia finally talked to me about getting rid of the ghosts. He said unless you have the “remains” there isn’t much you can do. If he can’t get rid of them, he has to live with them, and I guess it makes it easier for him to make them like pets.

There isn’t anything I can do to help him, and now I’ve got ghosts haunting me too. I don’t want to believe it. There has to be some way to get rid of them. Even if I can’t find some “remains” I have to try something.
