Problem is I get so many ideas and I work ‘em all out then never write ‘em down.

Anyway, the town is a made up one and it’s set in Japan however I will rarely use the honorific.

Ah well here we go again!

Chapter One: A Star Awakens!

--

The sun had only just begun to rise over the small town of Akihara. Adults and teenagers alike were dragging themselves out of bed to prepare for a day of work. All apart from a young brunette with haunting dreams.

This is where our story begins.

Darkness.

That was all that surrounded her. Not a single person surrounded her yet there were voices…unfamiliar voices talking about something that was of no concern to her.

The witches have begun.” A man’s voice echoed around her. The girl looked around but she was still alone.

There will be no trouble; they are weak compared to their mistress.” A woman’s voice this time…how odd. It was as if she was listening in on a conversation.

They have Loreali’s son. His powers remain dormant but they could still use him to open the gates.”

We will worry about that if it happens, what should we do until then?”

We will have to awaken the powers of those reincarnated from our goddesses.”

The girl felt a faint stirring sensation in her heart, as if some deep part of her was affected by these words.

She had to find out why and what they were going on about.

She had the sudden urge to help.

BEEP

Kadie awoke with a start, as her alarm clock blared into her ear. As quickly as humanly possible she slammed the snooze button to shut the damn thing up for a moment.

Today was the third of April, the first day of the new school year. From today on she was an eighth-grader. The girl sighed before she finally turned her alarm off and slipped out off bed.

“What a weird dream, ah well, it’s not like it was real or anything,” she muttered.

Little did Kadie know but the dream had been a real conversation happening in another world but then again how was she likely to know that when she was just your average girl?

With a stretch the pale brunette girl stretched and slowly began to ready herself for school.

“GAH, I GOT UP EARLY AND I’M STILL LATE,” Kadie screeched as she ran out of the house at top speed, only stopping to put her shoes on and grab her bag. Her regulation sky blue skirt rose as she darted towards the school. The top was a typical sailor style top with a sky blue collar with a red tie.

Before long the girl was panting but as just as she slid into the school gates, bumping into someone the bell rang. She fell right back onto her backside and a small whine escaped her lips. That is, until she looked up to see who it was. A tall blond boy’s azure eyes met her lime gaze as he chuckled quietly.

Automatically Kadie’s usually pale cheeks flushed pink. For this boy was Alex Takahashi, Kadie’s crush since she’d started middle school.

“Late as usual, huh Kadie,” he greeted with another chuckle. The boy didn’t bother offering her his hand to help her up; it was much more fun to watch her scramble to her feet.

When the brunette was finally on her feet again she giggled a little,

“I guess I am…well we better get to class!” she replied with a large grin. Even in the face of her crush Kadie managed to stay unbearably cheerful and chatty, which was one of the annoying traits about the girl.

The warning bell rung and the two eighth graders rushed to the hall to find out where they’d be that year then rushed to class.

Throughout the day the odd dream was stuck in Kadie’s mind. She couldn’t help but feel that it was real and that she had to help the people talking somehow. Those witches had sounded like bad news but then again even if they were real what would Kadie be able to do? The only ‘witches’ she knew were just a bunch of idiotic bitches in her class.

At that thought there was a high pitched giggle from behind her. Kadie turned around so quickly she could’ve gotten whiplash to see a girl with neatly cut blonde hair and a large grin on her face as she held a pair of scissors up…where Kadie’s hair had just been. An odd squeaking noise was emitted by Kadie before she nearly fell out of her chair. The blonde snorted in laughter,

“Great job Kadie, you prove what a loser you are without our help,” the girl sneered. Kadie glared back,

“Just fuck off Taylee,” she muttered before she righted herself in her seat and turned back to the front.

The three so-called witches mentioned by Kadie? They were Taylee Sheldrick, Ellis Riley and Nicola Watson aka the three bitchiest girls in Kadie’s year. Unluckily for Kadie she always ended up in the same class as them.

There was a quiet snort from next to Kadie and she turned her gaze onto the raven haired girl sitting next to her. She’d been watching Kadie all lesson, it was almost as if she suspected something but…what was there to suspect? Then again this girl was Rayna Ishida and she always had been a little odd. Once again she always seemed to end up in the same class as Kadie.

The brunette had gotten used to how creepy Rayna sometimes seemed so instead she shot her a friendly smile then let her eyes slip up to the clock.

After what felt like hours the bell finally rung and their teacher released them. Kadie wasn’t on classroom duty that week so as quickly as possible she packed her stuff away then sprinted out of the classroom, headed for home.

Everyone else in the classroom blinked and watched as the girl ran off before the class returned to normal.

It didn’t take Kadie too long to get home. She was always in a rush to get home on the first day of school so her mum was prepared for the hyperactive brunette to run through the front door.

“I’m home,” she called as she kicked her shoes off and just dropped her bag in the middle of the hallway. Her mother sighed as she stuck her head around the kitchen door and shook her head.

“Do you have to make such a mess,” she muttered as she pointed at the bag. With a sheepish grin the girl kicked her book bag to the side then shuffled into the living room.

“Oh Kadie, there’s a package for you from your grandma on the table,” the woman called out as she returned to doing the laundry.

Kadie blinked as she looked to the table sitting in front of the sofa and the small box placed on it. With a small squeal she plopped down onto the sofa and began to rip the box open in a rush. The cardboard flew everywhere and the bubble wrap thrown onto the sofa beside her as a smaller jeweler's box came into Kadie’s sight. With much more care she lifted the box out and slowly opened it. Inside on a small strip of pink satin rested a small piece of rose quartz on a silver chain. It was very simple but Kadie loved it anyway. She was fascinated in the powers of certain stones and well…she needed all the help with her love life she could get. Plus it was pink!

The necklace was unclasped and Kadie put it on carefully as her mum entered the room. She shot the girl an amused glance as she rushed into the hallway to look in the mirror.

“It looks nice sweetie, no need to cause an accident just to look at yourself!” Kadie pouted in response and when she returned into the living room she stuck her tongue out. The mother chuckled in reply and shook her head, one hand on her hip.

“Why don’t you go to the park to show it off, it was nice and quiet until you got home,” she suggested. With a big grin and a nod Kadie returned into the hallway to slip her shoes on then left the house with a quick goodbye to her mum.

It was oddly quiet in the park as Kadie stepped through the gates. She seemed to be the only one around; there weren’t any of the usual kids hanging around with their parents chatting or teenagers loitering.

“Hello,” Kadie called out but she didn’t get any response.

“Ah well, at least I can go on the swings.” With a shrug and a happy grin she bounced over towards the children’s playground.

Kadie wasn’t as alone as she first thought though as out of the girl’s line of sight a shadowy figure stood, hands signaling as she muttered incomprehensible words. After a few moments there empty spot in front of the figure and soon a shadow like monster grew.

The creature took the shape of a woman; however it was obviously wasn’t human as claws grew out of its bare hands and feet and its head was bald. Sharp fangs protruded from its mouth as it awaited its command.

“Go attack that girl, there is something different about her,” the creator hissed. With a nod of its head the creature turned and loped towards Kadie.

The girl heard it before she saw it and Kadie whipped around to see the woman like thing coming after her. Kadie blinked in confusion up until the monster growled and leapt forwards, as if to pounce on her. With a scream the girl started to sprint.

It was so supernatural; it was the type of thing that happened in manga not in real life. These were the thoughts running through Kadie’s head as she tried to keep away from the monster.

Eventually she had to stop to catch her breath and that’s when something even stranger occurred. The necklace around Kadie’s neck began to glow a soft pink and words formed in the girl’s head. She had no idea what they meant but something was telling her to say them. At that moment the monster pounced on her again.

“Silver Star metamorphosis,” she screamed. Silver light surrounded the girl and the monster bounced back on it as the girl floated into the sky.

Her body began to move on its own and as if she was performing some kind of odd twirling dance as her outfit changed into a strapless pink dress which ended just above her knees with a silver ribbon embroidered around the hem of the dress, pink calf length boots adorned her legs along with silver bands around her arms, knees and forehead which were all studded with rose quartz. Her necklace remained and what completed the transformation was a small pink wand with a silver star on top appearing in her hand.

Finally Kadie landed on the ground again, a little disorientated but she didn’t have time to sort things out in her head for the monster was growling again as it stalked her. Its gait and attitude was beast like though it looked almost human and it seemed mad. She looked from the wand to the monster, wondering what the hell she was supposed to do!

Eventually more words formed in her head and as she uttered them she pointed her wand at the monster,

“Silver Star beam.” Pink hearts in a silver beam of light shot towards the monster, hitting it straight in the face and effectively knocking it back into a tree. The creature growled one more time before it exploded into a cloud of dust.

Kadie stared blankly at the spot where the monster had once been. She didn’t even notice when her clothes returned to normal. The girl just had one thing on her mind.

What the hell had just happened?
