My recollection of this condition
Happens to be more than what you think I can remember
Time proves to be a bystander
A tower always hovering…
A shadow constantly over us…
Tick tock, Tick tock
Tick tock away
You seem to think
At least once you somehow mentioned
The power you seem to have of this relationship
Tick tock, Tick tock, Tick tock
All I can hear now is what the clock says
It’s only a matter of time before I let loose
Only a matter of time…
Tick tock, Tick tock
Tick Tock away
I’m no longer that girl
You can’t tell me what to do, what to think
I’m my own person
An Individual
Tick tock tick tock
Tick tock away
Time is passing
Soon you will tell
I’m no longer that weakling you can so willingly push around
Tick tock tick tock
I’m now strong enough to stand
Tick tock tick tock
The time’s a coming
I’m ready with my plan
Tick tock tick tock
And now the minutes have come to an end
Here I am
Right where you want me
You call my name
But this time I turn around and go the other way
I hear you screaming my name…again and again
Yet it’s no longer enough for me to stop this change
Tick tock tick tock
Tick tock away
Time’s tower is no longer hovering over
The shadow is gone
For now I’m on my own
I can see the daylight
I can handle the world at my own expense
I don’t need someone to tell me what I need to do
I’m in control of my own life
My time with you is through
Tick tock tick tock
Tick tock away
The clock has stopped
Or is it broken?
What does it matter?
I did it; I’m free
Now let’s go find that person I want to be
In my poem I made the 'tick tocking' of the clock in bold. You may wonder why towards the end I changed it to italic. Well, it's b/c the clock is gone. The shadow is gone. There's no longer this hovering. Daylight can be seen. Therefore, the heaviness and darkness is gone.
Hope you like it. And by the way this is not from personal experience. It's an idea I got after watching a movie. However, I hope it can maybe be inspirational/helpful to those who have personally experienced something like this.
