Lullaby of the Grim Reaper

-

-

come, let me whisper death’s
secrets in your ear
take you in my arms and
caress you tenderly with
my cold, bloody hands

lull you to sleep
and take you to
the garden of death

where the trees touch
the tangible sky
and the birds sing
sad songs that weave
webs around eternity

there are no musts
no longing, no sorrow
grief is unknown
all you need within your mind

come, follow me
in the mist your
soul will finally know peace

you don’t need to be frightened
I know, for I’ve been there
