The Color of You

There are many things I know
And many colors with a separate hue
Yet the only color I see is white snow
And I don’t know where I can find you.

I still possess your gift
A brilliant red ruby you gave to me
But all it does is widen the rift
Separating us from unity.

This cold freeze
Hardens me as I expire
This storm, which is hardly a breeze
Hides my chilled body, erasing my tire.

I rest my head on a stone
On which a lovely name is written
Could it be yours? That is unknown
Perhaps you have me just smitten.

I see my blood spill
The same color of the necklace you lost
It flows down this wintry hill
At none but my cost.

Is that your voice singing?
Or is it just the church bells ringing?

I wish I could have found
Which of the colors’ hue
That fits this empty sound
But maybe, just maybe, I’ll find the color of you.
